I’ve always thought we were an empire. Being the world’s policeman or evangelical democratists won’t work for us any more than it worked for the British Empire carrying the white man’s burden or the former Soviet Union protecting itself by taking over it’s neighbors.

Well, lets look at the US now:
75% of the discreditionary funding on the Pentagon (even though it is 4% GDP)
its has MUCH MORE DEBT than the USSR.
Unemployment in the USA calculated using EU metrics is between 20 and 25%
It has practically non-guarded borders, with a massive influx of immigrants/drugs
In the US you have the Patriot Act (removal of freedoms)

@ayubk001 we’re trying but July4Patriot became a political prisoner of Obama. How do they do this? Use false charges (the feds, along with his ex-wife, falsely charged him with molestation). Because of this Obama’s slowly silencing opposition. Millions of Americans are pissed.
I read a book where the world was flipped and the Soviet Union was the United States and the United States was the Soviet Union. history played out the same way except with the locations flipped across the hemispheres.
